Throughout the ‘war’ against emerging COVID – 19 virus variants that are highly contagious, not only the medical force, the police force, and the army but all Vietnamese people have had to experience the expense of this catastrophic impact. Thousands of companies are struggling to survive and millions of workers have lost their jobs or work with greatly reduced income.
Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat Airport used to be the busy and bustling hotspot of the country with hundreds of domestic and international flights every day. Yet, ongoing challenges and immense difficulties brought on by the pandemic has affected many. Not only are authorities, airlines and service providers struggling to grapple with the crisis, but the everyday lives of workers and staff here is becoming more difficult than ever.
During this time, the VIAGS’ Tan Son Nhat board of management, the Labor Union, and the Youth Union had quickly taken the initiative to create the “Love Connection Fund” to hasten welfare support for staff in need. From identifying airport staff going through a hard time to buying and transporting food and essential items in the fastest and most convenient way possible. This journey of ‘Knocking on every door – Looking after/Finding those in need’ is a part of the collective support campaigns for VIAGS Tan Son Nhat’s workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While gifts from the ‘Knock on every Door – To find those in need’ campaign are small in size, they are of high value in meaning. Sharing this spirit of support encourages laborers tremendously because it helps relieve the worries and fees to make ends meet during the pandemic. In addition to this, it motivates workers’ spirit to continue to fight, while increasing the trust and strengthening the interpersonal relationships in the VIAGS family.
