For two consecutive days on October 4 and 5, 2019, the check-in staff of International Passengers - Vietnam Airlines Passengers Services Center and Customer Airlines Services Center have continuously detected and prevented 10 passengers from illegal exit. In particular as below:

On October 4, staff Nguyen Quang Hung, Le Hoang Tuan and Vu Phuong Thao of the International Passengers Team - Vietnam Airlines Passengers Services Center - detected and promptly prevented 05 passengers using their fake passports (Turkey) on the VN031 flight, route SGN-FRA. This helps Vietnam Airlines avoid losses of 25,000 EUR (approximately 637,315,000 VND) if these 5 passengers are returned to Vietnam. The specific situation is as follows:

- When checking in, the check-in staff saw unusual points: the passengers used one-way ticket, had just been issued on October 3, and paid in cash, checked baggage is small, some passengers did not have luggage, used Turkish official passports, passengers could not speak English and have Arabic names.

- Staff Hung, Tuan and Thao reported to on-duty TOC the questioning points to coordinate with the Border Gate Patrol Police Team.

- In the afternoon of October 6, 2019, the police officer determined and provided information of 5 passengers with original nationality as Afghanistan.

Subsequently, on October 5, staff Vu Thu Thao, Nguyen Thi Hoang Yen and Assistant Supervisor Nguyen Nhu Mai of the International Passengers Services Team 1, Customer Airlines Services Center, on flight PR592, route SGN-YVR has detected and promptly prevented 05 passengers using fake passports (UK and US). Specifically:

- When checking in, the check-in staff recognized that the ticket had just been issued this morning, without luggage, the passengers spoke babbling English and have Arabic origin name

- Staff Thao, Mai and Yen informed the representative of PR Airlines to coordinate the Border Gate Patrol Police Team.

- After the investigation, at first, the police officer had information that the male passenger has nationality of Afghanistan, the remaining passengers could be Palestine or Jordan.

The continuous detection of cases of invalid travel documents by the check-in staff of the 2 Centers shows that the use of invalid travel documents is increasing quickly. Therefore, staff need to improve professional skills, raise the awareness when checking travel documents to avoid omitting cases of deliberate illegal exit.

In order to timely encourage staff with outstanding achievements in flight service, on the morning of October 10, VIAGS Tan Son Nhat held a commendation and reward ceremony for individuals belonging to 2 Passenger Services Centers having achievements in detecting and

coordinating authorities to promptly prevent the use of fake travel documents, avoid damage to the Carrier and improve the reputation and service quality of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat.
